Cross Check Plugin Testing Instructions

Thank you so much for helping us test our new plugin!

We really appreciate your help with this!

Here’s what we’d like to confirm:

  1. That the installation and activation procedure goes smoothly (see below)
  2. That the setup procedure goes smoothly (see below)
  3. That the activation and deactivation emails are working as intended (see Cross Check Activation and Deactivation Emails.pdf)
  4. That the monitoring functionality is working as intended (see Cross Check Monitoring Features.pdf)
  5. That all hyperlinks within the plugin settings and and the emails generated by the plugin work correctly
  6. That there are no grammatical errors/typos

Please use the form at the bottom of this page to submit your feedback. THANK YOU!!!

NOTE: You may want to perform this testing on a non-public staging/development website, as it’s not a good idea to block live/production sites from search engines!

If you must use a live site, be sure to take a backup first. Then perform the testing as quickly as you can. After testing, be sure to double-check that the Search Engine Visibility setting is unchecked and that there is no sitewide “Disallow: /” directive in robots.txt!

  4. Check your inbox! Ensure that the email came through directly to your inbox. If it didn’t:
    • Check your spam or junk mail folders, and if you find it there, mark the message “Not Spam” or “Not Junk.”
    • If you don’t see the message in either your inbox or spam folder right away, give it a little time and check it again. Some email providers take a little longer to deliver messages from a source that you’ve never received messages from before.
    • Add the “From” email address (cross-check@yourdomain.com) to your email contacts
    • Re-test and check inbox again

  5. If you are still having trouble getting the test message to land in your inbox, click here for more guidance.
